SEVEN THINGS STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW FOR THE EVENT Before the event

1. Perfect Your Pitch!

We suggest you prepare a 15-30 second ‘elevator pitch’ to introduce yourself to potential employers. We are also delighted to announce that two amazing Pitch Doctors, James Smith and Shahe Momdjian from the Masters Academy will be on hand throughout the event giving free advice and helping you to perfect your pitch. 2. Resume

You may want to bring along a copy of your CV. It can be useful for a networking event where employers will meet many of you in one night. Don't forget to include a photo of yourself on the CV so you are unforgettable! Check out our blog for some great pointers on how to create a CV to stand out from the crowd here

4. Dress for success

Get your outfit and travel plans sorted! Dress for success and get that iron out the night before so you don't stress out at the last minute! We recommend business or smart casual attire.

5. Don’t miss the bus!

6. Don’t be late

Doors open at 5.15pm SHARP and registrations are open for 45 mins. Please come well before 6.00pm so you have time to settle in. Be on time and ready to meet over 30 innovative businesses and startups who can't wait to meet you. Perfect your pitch or chill out and get expert career tips from a mentor.

7. The main event

You will participate in a series of 5 minute interviews or “speed dates” with businesses and startups. You will also have the opportunity to meet with up to 10 mentors from business, academia and government all on hand to provide free career advice and inside tips.

The businesses will pitch (in less than 30 seconds) their company and to you at the beginning of the event and then you will have interview slots with a selection of them.
